An exciting new renewable energy project that will provide income for Pembrokeshire communities will go before the council’s Planning Department next week (Tuesday 6th October).
Community Energy in Pembrokeshire (CEP) have put in an application for a wind power project in East Williamston that is expected to provide a community benefit of £2m over 20 years.
CEP is a not for profit Community Interest Company that aims to sustain and encourage all forms of energy conservation and renewable energy in the county.
The Company was formed as a result of Planed’s Community Action Planning process and they are planning a 500kW turbine at Prouts Park Farm after the landowner offered the site at a concessionary rate.
Funds generated will be reinvested in Pembrokeshire in the form of interest free loans or grants for sustainable energy and other environmental projects.
