As 2018 has come to a close, it is that time of year that we look back and assess the state of the sector. This is the third time Community Energy England have conducted their yearly survey which aims to gather information about energy generation, saving, CO2 reduction and social impact activities of community energy organisations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland up to the end of 2018.
The findings from this survey will inform the CEE and CEW annual State of the Sector Report, help us to influence government policy and raise awareness about the value of community energy. This year, we will also be publishing an openly accessible database as a resource for community energy researchers and practitioners. We hope that this resource will reduce the need for repeated research engagement and surveying of community energy organisations. It is, therefore, as ever, very important for us to get an accurate view of activity across the community energy sector.
The report will feed into the ongoing work of Community Energy England and Wales, networks, who support and aid community groups to develop their own low carbon projects. You can access last year’s State of the Sector Report 2018 here.
Those groups who took part in our recent the Regional State of the Sector survey for London, South and East England will be sent a partly pre-filled survey with the answers that you submitted already included. Please do not start a new survey.
The survey aims to capture information on:
– Your organisation;
– Geographical information (e.g. project sites);
– Technical project information (e.g. generation capacities);
– Project financing information (e.g. development and capital finance);
– Community benefit funding;
– Barriers to your organisation’s work;
– Your organisation’s future plans.
With this in mind, please ensure that an appropriate individual from your organisation is completing the survey and that you have as much information to hand as possible.
We have made every effort to minimise the number of questions in the survey and estimate that the survey will take around 30 minutes to complete. We understand that some respondents may not be able to complete it in one sitting. If you would like to save your survey and complete it at a later date, then please select ‘Save & Return Later’, at the bottom of the page. Save the survey link provided or enter your email address to have the link sent to you.
If you have any issues accessing your survey, please get in touch with the project team who will provide you with a new link.
