Community Energy in Pembrokeshire (CEP) is inviting the public to an open event to hear about the opportunities presented by community energy projects in the county.
CEP, a not for profit Community Interest Company, aims to sustain and encourage all forms of energy conservation and renewable energy in the county. Funds generated through community schemes will be reinvested in Pembrokeshire.
Chair of CEP, Peter Davies, said:
“Communities have a powerful role to play in leading the way in the transition from hydro carbon to a sustainable energy economy.
Whether you have prior knowledge of energy or not, or are simply interested in community development, we hope the event will encourage people to consider supporting or getting involved in the exciting and innovative projects coming through.”
Attendees will hear about a variety of energy initiatives being undertaken by Pembrokeshire County Council, Milford Haven Port Authority and Ynni Lleol, the current energy situation and future potential for the area.
Speakers will include Transition Bro Gwaun, Arwain Sir Benfro and Cwm Arian Renewable Energy who have recently launched a project promoting community energy in North Pembrokeshire.
